Adult Friend Challenge – Prudence
#3: Circumspection
Consider finding the book Vital Friends by Tom Rath at your local library or online and reflect on what a vital friendship means to you.
Are your friendships vital to you? What gifts do they bring to your life?
Saint St. Edmund Campion
St. Edmund Campion was a Catholic priest in England when Queen Elizabeth I put anti-Catholic laws into place. In defiance of this persecution, Fr. Campion wrote the queen a letter, later called “Campion’s Brag.” In it he explained that he would encourage and teach the faithful and refute all error. It was a dangerous letter, but Campion wrote it in order to renew the hope and courage of Catholics in England. He died a martyr’s death.
